Route Summary

This stage continues east along the Jurassic Coast from Budleigh Salterton, initially following the edge of the Otter Estuary before climbing onto the cliffs. The route then follows a series of undulating coastal paths with several moderate ascents and descents. The terrain remains well-defined throughout, with open views along the coastline. The final section descends into Sidmouth, approaching via the western side of the town before reaching the seafront.

Elevation & Difficulty

With approximately 290 metres of ascent, this stage is more demanding than the opening section from Exmouth. The climbs are not extreme but are more frequent, giving the route a steady rhythm of ascent and descent. The difficulty is spread across the stage rather than concentrated in one section. Overall, it represents a clear step up in effort while remaining manageable for most walkers.
